Why are you participating?
Well, I love to wear wigs! I personally know many women that have been impacted by this disease. I understand and know that not all women in our community have the same access to health care. I can still vividly recall when my own mammogram came back questionable. I can remember the quality of care that I was affored by the health care facility and the concern of the doctor, nurses, and technicians. After a lot of additional testing, it was determined that it was benign. I lost my mother, who was a young woman at the time, to bone cancer more than 20 years ago. So I've been fighting, volunteering, advocating and giving of my time and financial resources for a very long time.
I'm a stand-up comedian, and my stage name is Mic Chick. When I''m not working hard or making others laugh, I enjoy spending time and traveling with my husband and kids. I like to research stocks and bonds, and potential business and financial investments. I absolutely love antique shopping and decorating. Fun Fact Abut me is that I can hula hoop for hours.
What is your greatest achievement?
Being a wife and mother. Following my dreams to be a comedian and motivational speaker.
What brightens your day?
Waking up in the mornings! Seriously, receiving compliments from others. Okay, I'm really serious this time...when someone makes me laugh.
What is your favorite vacation spot? Why?
We love to travel but I must say Hawaii. We recently renewed our wedding vows there and our children served as our best man/woman. The two weeks we spent there was totally amazing and memorable. We immersed ourselves in the rich cultures, art, food, music, people and breathtaking beauty of the island. The experience will always be so special to us.
