Welcome to My Personal Page
Dear Friends and Family:
This year, I wanted to again make an impact in the fight against breast cancer! As a breast cancer survivor myself, I wanted to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever.
I fully participated in the Komen Race for the Cure in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Leap Year Day on February 29, 2020!! It was a beautiful day and there were myriad walkers and runners at this event in downtown Baton Rouge near the Louisiana State Capitol. I was with many friends and made new ones too! The mutual support was heartwarming indeed!!
I have made a tax-deductible donation online with my credit card and thank you and others for supporting my fund-raising for this cause. If you have not done so, I ask that you consider clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer. I have almost reached my goal!!
Thank you for supporting me as I fundraise in support of ending breast cancer forever!!
Gratefully, Cynthia Prestholdt

Komen Race completed February 29, 2020!!
What a beautiful Komen Race Day last Saturday turned out to be!! I participated fully with numerous friends and made many new ones too! The weather was sunny and initially brisk, but warmed up to the 70's by mid-morning. The Baton Rouge Mayor-President, Sharon Weston Broome, initially brought greetings as later did persons from a local TV station. We were treated to a healthy breakfast, lots of enthusiasm and and much support from breast cancer survivors as well as their friends and families, high school cheerleaders and students - and from many local vendors. The Survivor Parade and Celebration involved breast cancer survivors marching behind banners according to the length of time since their diagnosis - I was in the initial group of Survivors of 5 years for less. They even had a "Survivor Express" bus for those who wanted to participate in the course but felt they could not walk or run. Some survivors were celebrating more than 20 years since diagnosis & treatment!! The entire event was a positively heartwarming experience with lots of hugs and high-fives! There was both individual and team fund-raising with lots of colorful costuming, especially with pink Tut-tus!This was my 4th year of participation and I hope to do so again next year!
Thanks to you who have supported this cause with a donation in my name. One may continue to donate in my name for some time yet.
